Update: The State of Illinois is scheduled to resurface  4.85 miles  Midlothian Road from IL 176 to Old McHenry Road .The project is scheduled to begin on August 1.

The resurfacing of Gilmer Road from Hawley Street south to Diamond Lake Road is in progress with completion expected this summer. Work continues on the extension of Midlothian Road from north of Peterson Road to just south of IL Route 137.  This new County Highway extension will be open to traffic in July and will provide an important north-south connection for traffic in the Mundelein-Libertyville-Grayslake area.  The new section of Midlothian Road will include a new segment of the Prairie Crossing Bikepath from IL Route 137 south to Peterson Road.  The remaining gaps in this bike trail between Peterson Road and IL Route 176 will be filled in with new construction in 2012 resulting in a continuous paved north-south bike trail from Hawley Street in Mundelein to Prairie Crossing in Grayslake.
