Fire Department Training on the lake

on Thursday, April 5th, from approximately 7am to 5pm. The Lake County Special Response Team , will be participating in a cooperative training between the Sonar team , and the Dive team. The operation will be 2-3 boats and vehicles at the boat launch. The watercraft used for training will be clean and dry prior to entering the water per IDNR standards. The lake will be scanned using a sonar camera, and any target ( object they would like to take a closer look at) would be searched for using divers in the water. This cooperative training would accomplish multiple training areas which are critical in a successful operation like this.
  • Communications between teams
  • Communications between divers in the water and people on shore
  • Set up and operations for both Sonar equipment and Dive team equipment
  • Countryside Fire Command Staff training on water operations
Training like this is invaluable with the use of a lake and cooperation between two county teams at once.  They will make every
attempt not disturb the residents by means of notification of training in progress ,and limiting noise and traffic on the lake itself.
