CLCA call for volunteers

posted Oct 3, 2011, 12:29 PM by Brian Donahoe   [ updated Oct 11, 2011, 8:39 PM ]

Your help is needed on Saturday October 15th. There’s some fall work to do at the Countryside Lake Conservation Area (CLCA) site to keep the fine progress going, as well as meet some Grant commitments for the year. We can get more volunteer hours booked to get a bridge built over the low area of the existing pathway. We have wood available that should work out well, but we need some strong, knowledgeable labor. There is also seed from native species ready to be collected and spread. The number of invasive species has been dramatically reduced but there is still some foxtail grass, mare's tail, nightshade and multiflora rose to pull. Bring your own heavy duty gloves and a bucket to help collect and spread seeds.  Please help us spread the word as we do not have e-mails for all CLA members. This would also be a great opportunity for any young people needing service hours!!

Please plan to help us on Saturday October 15. We will be clearing, cutting, and generally cleaning up. Contact Dan Liberacki or Sharon A. for details and questions, or just come on out.
